Peter Centen, Grass Valley
Peter is a Group Leader and Chief Scientist of Imaging, in the camera R&D department of Thomson Grass Valley. Amongst many other fields he is responsible for development and the implementation of imagers in professional and broadcast video cameras.
Biography
In his R&D role, Centen has been involved in all the leading R&D projects such as the development of HDTV cameras, SDTV cameras and Super Slo Motion cameras. Always moving the limits of technology in an everlasting battle with competition and time. He was the inventor of HD-DPM technology (one imager for all the television standards) for which he was an EMMY recipient in 2003. He was the chief architect for the Xensium CMOS imager.
Centen holds a B.Sc., a Cum Laude M.Sc. and a Ph.D. The latter at the faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.
Centen is a member of the IEEE and SMPTE and has published journal and conference articles in related fields and presented the work of R&D at numerous international conferences.
