Dan Piponi from ILM, Aljoscha Smolic from Disney Research Zurich and James Knight caused a splash this year.Here's what they were talking about.

Dr. Aljoscha Smolic (left) is Senior Research Scientist and Head of the “Advanced Video Technology” group at Disney Research Zurich.

Dan Piponi has worked in graphics for 15 years in fields ranging from rendering and photogrammetry to physical simulation.

James GH Knight is a motion capture producer/project manager based in Los Angeles. He spent the better part of the last four years managing the motion capture (on set and in post) for James Cameron's critically and commercially acclaimed AVATAR, the first film to be shot almost entirely using performance capture technology. He has also worked as a Motion Capture Producer/Project Manager on films including I AM LEGEND, HULK and PRINCE CASPIAN.
